CAD File Format

CAD is an image file format that contains 2D or 3D designs.

3-D file format

DWG

The native file format for AutoCAD data files is .dwg. It contains all the pieces of information a user enters, such as Designs, Geometric data, Maps and Photos.

DXF

DXF stands for Drawing Exchange Format. Files that contain the .dxf file extension contain CAD vector image files.

DXF files are ASCII based and are therefore more compatible with other computer applications.

VRML

VRML is a text file format where, e.g., vertices and edges for a 3D polygon can be specified along with the surface colour, UV mapped textures, shininess, transparency, and so on.

IFC

The IFC file format is used for interoperability between industry Building Information Modelling(BIM) programs.

2-D file format

SVG

Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) is an XML-based vector image format that allows three types of graphic objects vector graphics, raster graphics, and text.
