Barcode Symbology


A Barcode Symbology defines the technical details of a particular type of barcode i.e the width of the bars, character set, method of encoding, checksum specifications, etc.

The specification of a symbology includes the encoding of the single digits/characters of the message as well as the start and stop markers into bars and space.





Code 39

The Code 39 barcode is the easiest to use of alpha-numeric barcodes and is designed for character self-checking, thus eliminating the requirement for check character calculations.
